Hello,
I stumbled across your website while researching Eilat Israel.  You have a powerful story to tell and I thank you for sharing a glimpse of it.  I will be looking forward to reading your book.

Sincerely,

Moshe,
I do not read Hebrew.  The site had translated excerpts.  I am in Orlando Florida, USA.  I was moved by what I read. Taken aback really...I could not imagine,...I suppose that is why I am interested in reading the book.

My friend told me to look up Eilat on the web to see how beautiful it is.  It is not what I imagined but the whole idea of the history overwhelms me.  The US is a baby, culturally and historically, compared to the rest of the world.

Where are you?

. Der Mr. Levy,

I am the niece of a survivor of the Eilat submarine that sank in 1967.  My uncle is Sholom B....
My mother was explaining to me about this israeli ship that sunk when I was a little girl and how her brother (my uncle)  survived this horrible event.  She says he never speaks about this to this day.  He told her many years ago about the black oil and the fire burning on the water.  Miraculously, he managed to swim for many hours.  She also mentioned that he carried two soldiers on him, but did not realize that they were dead.

Anyway, I noticed you are a survivor.  Were there any other survivors ?
Do you know him, my uncle, Sholom "D"  B...

He lives in Partizanim street in hertzlia , Israel.
As the 40th anniversary approaches, maybe he would want to talk to you.  Is there any event planned to commemurate this historical event in Israel history?

We never know him today to use a boat, ship, or anything on the water since this happened many years ago.  Today he is 60 years old.  He was 19 years old when this happened.

Thank you for your time,

Debbie (in USA)   (06/23/07

Hi Moshe

My name is Yehuda, the brother of Yosi “Jojo” F. Z”L who was lost at see in the submarine Dakar.

Recently I found your book with dedication that you wrote for my mother, in 93 when you visited her in Haifa.

I read, I couldn’t let go, it was emotional, and the reading brought me back to this days,,, I still have some missing part in the puzzle and I will be happy to find some answers with you help.  (Israel Feb/23/07)

Hi Moshe
I had the joy and the sorrow of just reading the summary of your book that I have wanted to read for so long.  As I write to you, I still have tears in my eyes.  I have tears, yes, and also I feel the admiration for you and all the brave men that served with you.

Even after the book, I cannot imagine what it was really like to go through such an experience.  I cannot know the pain and fright that all of you must have experienced.  But through all of the story I felt a great pride for what you did, and for what all those Israelis who were on the ship and who were part of the rescue accomplished.

Moshe, I salute you and all those...living and fallen...who sang in the face of death.  What a great event in the history of Israel.  Your book captured the essence of what Israel is and why we love her.

I hope very much that a movie will be made which will serve as inspiration to all those young soldiers who are now in the IDF and who will be in the IDF.  I hope you will renew your efforts to find a way to make this movie.  It is a story of survival and inspiration that must be told to all Israelis and all the world.

There are so many who have been rewarded by your survival, and I am happy and lucky to be one of them.  Anyone who knows you knows what a great and kind husband, father, and friend you are.

Kol HaKavod, Moshe,

As always, we miss you and we miss Israel.
